Home Care Providers

Pasco and Pinellas Personal Home Care Providers Referred By Care Plus Professionals Inc. In-home care services in South Florida We take Personal Care very personally

Personal care services administered by a trusted home health aide

CNAs and HHAs Provide Personal Care Services The Help Needed to Remain Independent

Personal care services can help your parent, spouse or other senior loved one continue to live
independently at home as he or she ages,  something that can be complicated by illness,
accidents, and the effects of growing older itself on physical and mental capabilities. After a life
of independence and self-sufficiency, it may be hard to accept the need for aid with personal
care. Personal caregivers referred by Care Plus respect the importance of preserving your loved
one’s privacy and dignity while assisting with activities that once could be done unaided.

Addressing Non-Medical Personal Care Needs
In-home personal care may also be referred to as “non-medical home care,” “custodial care,”
“companion care,” or “private duty home care.”

Skilled Nursing Care in South Florida
Personal caregivers:
• Assist with basic functional activities of daily living (ADLs) that involve personal care for and
movement of the
body, such as bathing/showering, dressing, toileting, walking, and eating
• Aid with instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs)—tasks that help maintain a household
and an independent
lifestyle, such as cooking, light housekeeping, laundry, driving/transportation, and shopping
• Offer companionship and encouragement and other “intangibles” that can offset the loneliness,
depression or frustration that aging individuals sometimes experience
Personal caregivers are not medically trained, however. They are not qualified to provide skilled
nursing care such as injections, wound/surgical dressing changes, or pain management. For
example, a personal caregiver can provide medication reminders, but only a skilled nurse can
manage which medications your loved one is taking (referred to as medication reconciliation).

In situations where in-home skilled nursing care is required, there is often a need for supportive
personal care, too. However, it is common for personal care services to be needed in the home
even when skilled nursing care is not.

Care Plus can also refer providers of skilled nursing home care.
We refer experienced licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and registered nurses (RNs) who are
qualified to provide medically necessary home care. For more information on in-home health
care, visit the skilled nurses section of this website.

Compassionate CNAs and HHAs Providing Sensitive, Respectful Personal Home Care Services

“My family is so pleased with Care Plus’
services, we wanted to write and
tell you about it. We can’t thank you
enough for being there during this time of
need, your outstanding service and the
genuine concern from both our Care Plus
and her aide.”

If you request non medical personal care at home, Care Plus can refer carefully screened CNAs
(certified nurse assistants) and HHAs (home health aides) with demonstrated reliability and a
passion for what they do. The most compatible personal care match for your loved one is further ensured through interviews with prescreened personal caregiver candidates.

We verify training and work history and personal background, then narrow the field by
presenting 2 or 3 compatible personal caregiver candidates. The interviews give you and/or
your loved one the final choice of personal caregiver on the basis of one-to-one compatibility.
Beyond training, skills and experience, we understand the importance of personal
compatibility when choosing an HHA or CNA.
